Andrew Simpson has been continuously involved in the maritime world since he enrolled on a training ship at the age of 13. Once a deck officer in the Merchant Navy, he is now a practicing yacht designer, boatbuilder and surveyor. Over the years he has been a regular contributor to many sailing magazines both in the UK and overseas and is the author, illustrator and editor of several books on boating subjects.
