Gilberto Jaimes-Correa is a graduate of International Law from the Dominican Republic-United States of America with three masters in Negotiations and International Economics, Economics and Integration from Chile and Latin American History from Colombia. A history researcher and canonic scholar, this Venezuelan Diplomat with 16 years of experience; he formed part of the Venezuelan delegations that negotiated the CARICOM-Venezuela Agreement, The Partial Scope Agreement Trinidad and Tobago-Venezuela, as well as being a member of the Venezuela negotiation team in the creation of the Association of Caribbean States. He worked at the Institute of International Trade and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in Venezuela, before forming part of the Foreign Service of his country the past seven years he had being head of the political, consular, cultural and trade Sections at the Embassies of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Santiago de Chile and in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. For five years, Coordinator of the Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Cooperation in Port of Spain. Author of the book “Trinidad Through the Eyes of Francisco de Miranda’s Correspondence” publish in 2004 and “Diary of an Officer in Miranda’s Expedition of 1806” publish in 2006, both in the English language. He is also a collaborator of art, culture, international and commerce topics in various newspapers in both his home country Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.
