<b><a href="http://www.janmaher.com/">Jan C. Maher</a></b> (b. 1946) is an American writer and educational consultant. She has written numerous plays and books including <i>Most Dangerous Women</i> (2006) and the novel <i>Heaven, Indiana</i> (2000). She has coauthored several books with her husband, Douglas Selwyn, including <i>History in the Present Tense: Engaging Students Through Inquiry and Action</i> (2003). Maher received her undergraduate education in part at <a href="http://shimer.edu">Shimer College</a>, where she enrolled through <a href="http://www.shimer.edu/academicprograms/undergraduate/earlyentrantprogram.cfm">early entrance</a>.
