Jean Paul Collette
Between the two World Wars, he organized the Volontaires nationaux, the youth organization of the Croix-de-feu, and then l'Action française. He joined the French Army in 1938, and went into battle in 1940. He is famous for firing at and wounding a group of directors of the collaborationist group Légion des volontaires français at Vichy. He acted alone and believing the action would result in his. He was arrested, beaten, and sentenced to death. His sentence was commuted to life imprisonment by Pétain. In 1985, he was appointed a Knight of the Légion d'honneur.
