Steven Michael Kahn, an Astrophysicist who obtained his PhD in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1980, is Professor of Physics at Stanford University (2003-present). Other institutional affiliations include University of California, Berkeley, and Columbia University. His research interests include x-ray spectroscopy cosmic sources, atomic physics measurements of highly charged ions relevant to astrophysical plasmas, and development of space and ground-based instrumentation.
