Booker T. Washington's Up From Slavery triggered my love for dramatized history. Teaching elementary school for twenty five years in Los Angeles taught me that children want answers to the real world situations they encounter. I enjoy building characters that find themselves in an uncomfortable reality, and decide to do something about it. I was a newspaper reporter for the New York Daily News. My story on Childhood Obesity won an American Heart Association award.
