Philip Y. Pendleton
Philip Yancy Pendleton, born in Bethany, West Virginia, was a Christian minister of Scotch-Irish descent. He was the son of Rev. W. K. and Catharine Huntington (King) Pendleton. He graduated from Bethany College, A.B. degree, 1884. He practiced law for nine years in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; and was editor for twelve years in Cincinnati, Ohio. He married Ada H. Lloyd on June 13, 1893. He served as Director of American Christian Missionary Society for nine years, and was a speaker on many national programs of Missionary, Christian Endeavor, Temperance and kindred movements; member of “The Palaver” Club of Nashville.
