Betty Bonham Lies
Betty Bonham Lies graduated from Carleton College in 1957 and received a Master's Degree in English literature from the University of Wisconsin in 1958. From 1971 to 1996 she taught at the Stuart Country Day School in Price ton, NJ. In 1993, she published her first book of poetry, The Poet's Pen. In 2000, she was named Distinguished Teaching Artist by The New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and she received the New Jersey Governor’s Award in Arts Education in both 2000 and 2003. She is a member of the US 1 Poets’ Collaborative and Cool Women Poets.
