Born Florence Tompson. Her parents identity were kept secret. Although the name of her father was John Charles Tompson on her marriage certificate, the official family story as told by Florence, herself, was that she was the daughter of Charles Dumergue, born 1811, London, and a certain Miss Tompson. Florence married John Turner Caddy on 26th January 1857 at the Catholic Apostolic Church, St Pancras, London. Florence had three boys and two girls. In all she had seven books published including two novels both in three volumes. These were "Artist and Amateur" and "Adrian Bright".
