Mary H. Manhein's 30-year career has been filled with accomplishments. She propelled the Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services Laboratory at Louisiana State University to the forefront of forensic anthropology and facial reconstruction. A fellow in the physical anthropology section of the Ameerican Academy of Forensic Sciences, she consulted on hundreds of forensic cases; both for disasters, such as hurricanes and fires; and criminal cases, including high-profile serial killings. She also served as deputy coroner of the East Baton Rouge Parish.
