I grew up on Teesside in the 70s when the clothes and the skies were brown. Since then I've lived in over 20 different places from the North of Scotland to Southern California during which time I have never had a paid job, nor owned a suit. How on earth I've actually survived is sometimes a bit of a mystery. It all seems to have gone by very fast. Now with 17 novels to my name and 3 non-fiction books, two of which were long-listed for important sports book awards, being long-listed for Writer Of The Year by the FSA and writing for award-winning website Football365 for over 2 decades, as well as many other media outlets, I'm finally managing to self-identify as a writer. At last, I've settled down on the magnificent west coast of Scotland with Dawn, my partner since (gulp) 1980 and Rabbie, a rather lovely cat.
