Jamison Green (he/him) is a white trans man and professional writer who began medical transition in 1988, when resources and awareness were limited. He started his activism soon after, leading FTM (female-to-male) International from 1991 to 1999, the first community-based organization for transmasculine people, and authoring the classic Becoming a Visible Man. He contributes to many academic anthologies and journals and holds BA and MFA degrees from the University of Oregon (1970, 1972), and a PhD in Law from Manchester Metropolitan University (2011); he has been featured regularly in the media and at innumerable conferences and has consulted globally on trans rights.
