Michele Herrera
"A valuable, if flawed asset on the topic. Listed, not annotated, sources comprise only those written in El Salvador itself (not 'published,' since many are theses). Four chapters are devoted to different loci of publication, especially several NGOs and universities. The remaining chapter devotes ten pages to works written by men. With an average of just five titles per page the overall volume-length is misleading. Some entries are missing key bibliographic information. Appendix grids are used to map out thematic changes over the decades"--Handbook of Latin American Studies, v. 57.
