The book is a family description, set in UK and Malawi mostly. Alfie, the son of Jude and Sebastian is expelled from his school in Lilongwe, Malawi after having performed bad towards a young girl. The book is written partly with live characters in mind, modelled around Norwegian family members (yes - the author is Norwegian, having written his debut novel in English!)
