Erich Steiner
The British boat "Patria" was part of the tragic odyssey including "Salvadore", "St. Louis", "Atlantic", and "Struma". Barred from entering Palestine, these boats floated in the seven seas, and 2000 passengers lost their lives. "Patria", carrying 1771 visaless passengers was not allowed to debark in the Haifa haven, and was blown up on November 25, 1940, with a loss of 257 lives.
