Julian Norris Hartt
The meta-concerns of philosophy are sometimes pursued, or at least celebrated, as though here at last, and thank God, really basic issues can be handled without showing one's hand on anything of substance. But, for example, are the arguments over the philosophical foundations of mathematics justly famous for their immunity to infections from the "real world"? Therefore, it matters little whether or not this essay be viewed as a meta-something that sins against the true spirit of meta discourse.
