The event, which will be celebrating the 195 years of the Escola de Belas Artes, brings together previously unpublished works of researchers who bring significant contribution to the review of the approaches on artistic education, historiography of art in Brazil and history of collections, confirming the importance of museums as places of memory and knowledge production. It is intended also to underscore the importance of John VI Museum for the quality of its collection, its relevant collaboration in the construction of the writing of the history of Brazilian art and as a distinguishing mark of the institution.
