The Tabakfabrik Linz was built by the architects Peter Behrens and Alexander Popp between 1928 and 1935. It is the first large steel-framed building in Austria and represents one of the most important industrial buildings of Modernism. Utilized until recently in the production of tobacco products, the property was purchased in 2009 by the city of Linz.
