Jake, a newspaper reporter, is caught between an unsatisfactory job and her desire to own a home, a vindication of all her hard work. With her editor pushing for sensational stories and real estate the hot issue in her community, Jake decides to concoct a false investigative story. When her editor likes the idea, she needs to decide where her values will lead her: to material comforts or to living by her values.
