There  is also a black line and a black decorative line that create a rectangular border along the margins of the book, and around the word "Journal." Along the top edge of the front cover is handwritten in black ink: "Peace Lutheran Memorial Fund, 1-1-87." The back cover is blank. All records inside are handwritten in various ink colors.
