Dyck, J. W.
This series of paperback readers for use during the early levels of German language study offers appropriately challenging and instructive brief biographies of some outstanding figures in the history of German culture. Beginning with Mozart, the series includes for sequential reading Alexander von Humboldt, Wagner, and Nietzsche. The plan of the series is to offer reading material of gradually increasing difficulty. Nietzsche, the fourth and last reader in the series, includes the subjunctive tense, and is written with a minimum of stylistic restrictions. Footnotes, exercise material for review, and end vocabulary are provided. - Back cover.
