Told from the points of view of Hazel Porter, her mother Sarah (Ma'dear), 17 year-old Tricia, and 14 year-old Shanell; a single mother, attempts to raise her two teenage daughters while dealing with the threat of losing her job and caring for her ailing mother.  When she allows her ex-husband Donald to use their apartment address as a drop box, she inadvertently places the family in danger.  A story of family relations, teenage angst, secrets, blackmail and murder.
