This is a love story about a "native" boy who was never fully accepted by the summer colony in the little Maine town in which he grew up, rebuffed by his secret love for a pampered and spoiled darling of a wealthy Boston family. Their lives led them, separately, through a series of tragic mistakes but, in the end, they gained understanding and happiness together.
