Jack Gorse now lives in a Buddhist monastery in Vermont. Previously he led a secluded, ritualistic life in a small rent-controlled apartment in NYC. An eviction notice and his relationship with a photographer sent to take pictures of his apartment upend his existence and set him on the path to the monastery—the last place he feels he can find respite.
