Amanda Ramm
The author asserts that the concept of the Grüne Galerie in the Munich Residenz was unique, but no longer demonstratable by the present space. Now famous paintings are brought back and losses restored by material kept in storage. The few, select visitors in the 18th century were dazzled by the brilliance of the 160 paintings in the Grüne Galerie, which fulfilled the purpose of the Elector Karl Albrecht (1697-1745, later Emperor Carl VIIth) to underline his pretension to power through the most expensive and elegant art works of his time.
