Oswald Barroso
A reisado is a dance executed in the north and northeast as part of the Christmas time celebrations. The reisado was imported to Brazil from the Iberian peninsula in the 19th century and was customarily danced on the eve of the Dia de Reis (6 January) to celebrate the birth of Jesus--See: Daniella Thompson, as Crônicas bovinas, parte 11.
