With their mentor Cable out of the picture, the members of X-Force must pick up the pieces and forge their own future. Following the events of "X-Men: X-Cutioner's Song," the Cable, the soldier from the future who transformed the New Mutants into his own strike team, is believed to be dead. With Cable gone, Professor X believes Cannonball will lead the team back into the fold of the X-men, but the X-Force has other plans.
