The first section is a critique of Jacobus Gronovius' annotations of an edition of Pompeius Mela. Paul Colomiès' letter is in French. The work includes at pp. 58-72 a sniffy reply to the dissertation of Humphrey Hody (1659-1707), who for the first time systemically demolished the forged and widely reproduced Letter to Philocrates on the Septuagint by pseudo-Aristeas.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;text-align:justify;line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:11.5pt;"><br /></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0.0001pt;text-align:justify;line-height:normal;"><span style="font-family:Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:11.5pt;">See ESTC, R24581; D.
