Guy Bajoit
In this study, the author attempts to understand how the Greeks invented solutions to the fundamental problems posed by their communal life, in the conditions of life that they had between the 7th and 9th centuries BC; why the actions that they attempted led them to create a civic culture; and why these actions and this culture ultimately faded, without disappearing completely, toward the middle of the 4th century.
