In addition to profiling Charlton and highlighting his many contributions to archaeological methods and sources, contributors apply and develop some of his lines of research: chronological placement of black-and-orange Aztec pottery, preparation of food before and after Spanish conquest in central Mexico, sacred sites of Chiapas lowlands from post-classic age, and others.
