Book detail
George Wakeford was an outstanding master bee-keeper. He didn't wear protective clothing and never seemed to get stung. He had a remarkable relationship with bees. When he used to come and talk to us at Fittleworth School in the 1950s he would lift up his cap to reveal a Queen Bee sitting on his bald patch. Again, he didn't get stung. He advised the Maxey Fruit Company at Little Bognor on bee-keeping.The book is full of wonderful stories about his life and work and and also about his area of West Sussex.
