John Aitken
Lost Is My Quiet is a play written in the thriller genre. Living in a terror-ridden South-East Asian city Jody Fielding is a writer of voyeuristic pulp fiction: "Somehow I have this gift, the way I use words - I can make the reader feel he is actually having sex with the most exotic women or boys in the whole of Asia." He shares his life with Libbie, an ex-hooker who feeds him stories from her lurid past. They are visited by Simon an ex-lover of Jodys who claims to have become a born-again Christian. Simon feels that he is being shadowed by his doppelganger, or an exact copy of himself. Trouble is, the doppelganger is a born-again serial-killer. Does Simon actually have a doppelganger or is he simply one seriously deranged young man?
