Luis R. Leante Chacón
After the break up of their summer romance in 1970s Barcelona, teenagers Montse and Santiago go on to live separate lives. Santiago becomes a soldier in Spain's African colony in the Western Sahara, befriending the local Saharawi people and escorts a Saharawi family on an epic journey across the desert. Thirty years later, Montse, now a divorced doctor, discovers that Santiago did not die as she had been told and sets out to find him among the refugee camps of Western Sahara.
