Dane Coolidge
A sudden electrical storm changes Ab Meadows' life for the worse when it prompts him to seek refuge in a sandstone cave. There he encounters Butch Brennan, leader of the wild bunch, who had just robbed a train. Meadows doesn't carry a gun and Butch forces him to trade horses, leaving behind the chula mare he is known for riding and a handful of double eagles. Before departing, Brennan offers Meadows a place in his wild bunch. Neadows refuses but is tempted by the pieces of gold. After all, why leave them behind? Back in town, Sheriff Baca and a posse are on Brennan's trail, and riding the chula mare gets Meadows arrested. When the double eagles are found, the sheriff is convinced that Meadows is Brenan. Thus begins an adventure that will make an outlaw of Ab Meadows.
