Hermann von Fischer
The seven volumes of the dictionary describe the state of the Swabian dialects in the late 19th century. For every entry there are several notations of how people pronounced the word in various regions, also there is information in which regions the words were used. The dictionary is one of the foremost sources for local history, especially when concerned with names of all kinds. Unfortunately it has been out of print for many years.
