1st Edition was printed in 1898 and has a wonderful Sepia photograph of a young woman on the front. It is in Hardcover form and actually has an apology printed on the first pages for use of the word "sketches" to describe the pictures in the book. It is a wonderful book about life before the 1900's with many wonderful photos and drawings by the author.
