Fat Cat has 4 kittens and 4 kittens is a lot for one household, especially when Dad's fish dinner is devoured by them! So the kittens are taken to the pet store to be sold. One by one each member of the family secretly purchases a kitten and hides it in the house. When dinner is called, all the kittens come running. The family decides that one kitten is not too many--one for Dad, one for Mom, and one each for the children.
