"Aristeae historia LXXII interpretum" and "Historia baptismorum, cum Hebraicorum tum Christianorum" have separate title pages. Text of Aristæus in Greek and Latin, some quotations in Hebrew. Stamp of Hyacinth College and Seminar, Cranby, Mass. The Dutch preacher, writer, and physician Anthonie van Dale (1638-1708) spent much of the final decade of his life on writing the present work, a Latin history of baptism, centering on imposture and deceit in Aristeas’s Letter to Philocrates. The work adds to Scaliger’s denunciation in his Thesaurus, with the full text.
