A tragic story about a young girl named Kristine who has one dream and gold in her life; To become an actress. The story takes place in Bergen in 1939, and reflects Kristines life as a teenager "with bills to pay". Her focus on becoming a free artist, and fighting against societys expectations for her to become a housewife is leading up to a disaster. During World War 2, she suffers from hunger, and becomes a "seagull-eater".
