From the first corona measures in March 2020, Marijn de Jong and Rafaël Philippen will photograph their immediate surroundings close to home in Rotterdam-Kralingen and Rotterdam-IJsselmonde. With the camera, they connect with people they meet and want to discover and capture the places they think they know so well with new eyes. During their first meeting, they decide that their agreement will be a new project. During the lockdowns, they take many walks close to home. Their main principle is that "a photo is only good if the CONTACT of the photographer with his subject is visible". Now two years later the publication CONTACT appears. The corona pandemic is still present. The cabinet is trying to limit physical contacts as much as possible with strict lockdowns and other measures. At the same time, it is essential that we continue to see our environment and each other enough. Tijdens hun eerste kennismaking al bepalen ze dat hun overeenkomst een nieuw project wordt. Tijdens de lockdowns maken ze vele wandelingen dichtbij huis. Hun belangrijkste uitgangspunt is dat "een foto pas goed is als het CONTACT van de fotograaf met zijn onderwerp zichtbaar is". Nu twee jaar later verschijnt de publicatie CONTACT. De corona pandemie is nog steeds aanwezig. Het kabinet probeert met strenge lockdowns en andere maatregelen de fysieke contacten zo veel mogelijk te beperken. Tegelijk is het essentieel dat we onze omgeving en elkaar, genoeg blijven zien. Contact is cruciaal voor vertrouwen en om een samenleving met elkaar te zijn
