Vega, Garcilaso de la
Garcilaso adopted the Italian Renaissance lyric style of poetry & is thereby credited with beginning the Golden Age of Spanish poetry. Known for his sonnets & pastorals, he was also a calm student of love's philosophy & a critic of the savagery of war.
