Encerrados Afuera is a scholarly exploration of the Lacanian concept of foreclosure (preclusión). The work examines the psychological and social states of those who exist on the margins of society—including the mentally ill, exiles, stateless persons, and the excluded—analyzing how they are effectively locked outside the symbolic order and the boundaries of their own nations.
