When Cora and Martha, two elderly roommates residing in a west central Illinois nursing home, decide to take a "one last fling" vacation their "unexcused" absence triggers a missing persons alert as they travel to Florida and experience beginners luck at the Daytona Dog Race Track. Realizing they now have a second chance at life, Cora and Martha decide to spend what remaining years they have left traveling the United states. After all, they did reach Florida safely, didn't they?
