Commemorative and programmatic album of the atypical, prolific and resolutely pop images workshop in the milieu (IDM) under the direction of Jean-François Octave, from the 1980s to the present day, at the ARTS2 school in Mons. Placed under the sign of permanent surprise, and under the direction of its workshop manager Jean-François Octave for thirty-three years, the Images dans le milieu workshop, known in the Belgian public art community under the acronym IDM, is handing over the baton to a renewed and trained team in its atypical bosom over the next few days combining drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, scenography, urban interventions and street art, photo, video, performances and installations in a resolutely pop but committed spirit and responsible. The opportunity therefore to take stock of this transdisciplinary contemporary art workshop, not quite like the others, in the form of a 336-page primer which gives voice to each of its speakers and shows its productions. heterogeneous over the years, then on the occasion of three exhibitions at the Mons slaughterhouses (BaM), at the BPS22 in Charleroi, at Mac's Musée des Arts contemporains Grand-Hornu and an evening at ISELP. But also, beyond this commemorative and festive dimension, the opportunity to reflect on what can and should be a necessarily transdisciplinary art school anchored in life and in the city. L'occasion donc de faire le point sur cet atelier d'art contemporain transdisciplinaire, pas tout à fait comme les autres, sous la forme d'un abécédaire de 336 pages qui donne la parole à chacun de ses intervenants et donne à voir ses productions hétérogènes au fil des ans, puis à l'occasion de trois expositions aux abattoirs de Mons (BaM), au BPS22 de Charleroi, au Mac's musée des Arts contemporains Grand-Hornu et d'une soirée à l'ISELP. Mais aussi, au-delà de cette dimension commémorative et festive, l'occasion de réfléchir à ce que peut être et doit être une école d'art forcément transdisciplinaire ancrée dans la vie et dans la ville.
