Curtis Kent Bishop
As Ed Kane, former Texas Ranger, rode into his home town, he sensed the undercurrent of tension and strain prevading the cool summer evening. There was hate directed against the Conroys, an arrogant feudal clan which was terrorizing the valley ranchers with its bands of marauding thugs. Kane steps into the feud when he defends young Tommy McGee, ne'er-do-well and sometime rustler, against the fury of the Conroy brothers and their foreman Slade, Kane's former friend. Yet Kane finds himself drawn into a net of infatuation for the beautiful Catherine Conroy, tempestuous daughter of old Calhoun Conroy.
