Dr. Timothy Dare, a forensic psychiatrist for the criminal courts in Vancouver, is on the verge of a breakdown. His wife has left him, and his practice is in disarray. On top of that, his newest patient is a man who murdered his previous shrink and now Dare believes his own life is in danger. The only way forward is to consult a psychiatrist himself and confront the real source of his inner turmoil.
