James Daugherty
From a childhood steeped in Biblical lore, seeing visions so graphic he could descibe minute details, strongly influenced by the art of Westminster Abbey, Blake created an art drawn almost entirely from his imagination, for "Any fool can copy nature." Never wealthy, Blake enjoyed some appreciation during his life, which he shared with his devoted wife Kate. Twenty-one of Blake's drawings for the Book of Job are interpreted by the author, another artist.
