On the occasion of the 20th birthday of the Department of Transmedia Art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, a showcase was developed that encompasses the impressive scope of transmedia art forms in the class. 'Lightness and matter. Matter and lightness' reveals developments within different generations of artists in and around the department. "In the context of its critical and experimental investigations into the theory and practice of exhibiting and curating, the Kunstraum Niederoesterreich seeks out cooperations with art universities in order to react upon new artistic strategies and emerging forms of expression in contemporary art."
