Iris Bork-Goldfield, Beauftragte des Landes Brandenburg zur Aufarbeitung der Folgen der Kommunistischen Diktatur
Story of the author's father, Werner Bork, and other students who between1949 and 1953 actively opposed the repressive Communist regime in the GDR. Operating in Werder an der Havel and Brandenburg, they secretly wrote and distributed leaflets and other materials which called for free elections, freedom of expression, and democracy. Several of Bork's associates were arrested, interrogated, and tortured by the Stasi; some were executed; and many others sentenced to penitentiary camps and prisons in the GDR and the Soviet Union.
