"The book would deal with anti-poverty policy initiatives undertaken during the Pearson/Trudeau years, in particular the proposal for a General Annual Income (GAI), the establishment of the anti-poverty think tank Praxis (whose decade and Inter Press Service since 1996, particularly in the areas of Canadian politics, local politics, foreign/defense policy and culture. The focus of the book would be on the shift in the political conversation about poverty under neoliberalism.
